The Ponies

In 2018 and 2019 Dark Horse Ranch acquired 2 Dales Pony mares to use for future breeding projects. In 2023 we are proud to announce the arrival of our first foal DarkHorseDales Lyric out of Raspotnik Mari by FloridaDales Blue Enoy. Lyric tested positive for the roan gene from UC Davis's dna test, so we are extremely happy to add one more blue roan filly to the US population of Dales Ponies. Dales ponies are originally from northern England and are currently listed as critically endangered by the The Livestock Conservancy of North America. Dales ponies are a large size at 14.2 hands and can easily carry most adults, and are docile enough to carry small children. These ponies have a beautiful presence and such wonderful personalities and have been the perfect addition to our farm. Dark Horse Ranch is a proud member of the Dales Pony Society.
